The Covenant Day Lions football team (Matthews, NC), was knocked off 27-14 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors (Indian Trail, NC)

The Warriors (4-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Asheville School (Independent) (Asheville, NC). The Blues come into the non-league challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last challenge, Asheville School (Independent) knocked off Asheville Christian Academy (Swannanoa, NC), 55-6, in a league challenge.

The Lions now sport a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Asheville Christian Academy for a NCISAA Western challenge on Friday, September 15. Covenant Day will meet a Lions team coming off a 55-6 league loss to Asheville School (Independent) (Asheville, NC). The Lions record now stands at 1-2.
