The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Christopher Cougars (Gilroy, CA) and the host San Mateo Bearcats (San Mateo, CA), observed Christopher's football squad thwart San Mateo by a count of 38-7.

The Cougars now own a 3-0 record. They play next when they travel to Leigh for a non-league contest on Saturday, September 24.

Coming up next, the Bearcats play the Gunn Titans (Palo Alto, CA) in a El Camino contest, on Friday, September 16. San Mateo will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Titans go into the contest with a 0-3 record after their 41-0 non-league loss to Palo Alto (Palo Alto, CA).
