Iowa High School Football - Vinton-Shellsburg drops to Columbus
September 9, 2022: Vinton, IA 52349 In Friday's non-league game, the Columbus Sailors (Waterloo, IA) football team knocked off the host Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings (Vinton, IA), by a final score of 21-7.
The Sailors (1-2) will now prepare for their game against MFL MarMac (Monona, IA). The Bulldogs come into the 1A District 4 game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, MFL MarMac was dropped by Osage (Osage, IA), 28-22, in a non-league game.
The Vikings now hold a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Independence for a non-league game on Friday, September 16. Vinton-Shellsburg will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 50-8 non-league win over West Liberty (West Liberty, IA). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-0.
