The Mahanoy Area Golden Bears thwarted the host Panther Valley Panthers football team by a count of 35-14 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Mahanoy Area upgrades its record to 3-0 on the season. The Golden Bears travel to Catasauqua (Catasauqua, PA) to confront the Rough Riders in a Colonial-Schuylkill outing on Friday, September 16. The Rough Riders go into the outing with a record of 0-3. Catasauqua lost 12-7 in their recent league outing against Marian Catholic (Tamaqua, PA)
