In Saturday's non-league contest, the DeSoto Central Jaguars (Southaven, MS) volleyball squad nudged the host Alexandria Valley Cubs (Alexandria, AL), by a margin of 2-1.

Next up, the Jaguars face the Hernando Tigers (Hernando, MS) in a Class 7 Region 1 contest, on Tuesday, September 12. DeSoto Central will attempt to better on its 16-6 season record. The Tigers go into the contest with a 8-9 record after their 3-1 league win over Oxford (Oxford, MS).

With the loss, Alexandria moves to 15-3 on the year. The Valley cubs travel to Fort Payne (Fort Payne, AL) to face the Wildcats in a non-league contest on Saturday, September 9.
