New York High School Soccer - Afton toppled by Marathon
September 9, 2024: Afton, NY 13730 Marathon Olympians (Marathon, NY) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the host Afton Knights (Afton, NY), 10-1 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Marathon moves its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Olympians travel to Moravia (Moravia, NY) to clash with the Blue Devils in a Interscholastic Athletic Conference (IAC) test on Tuesday, September 10. The Blue Devils come into the test with a record of 0-2. Moravia lost 1-0 in their recent league test against Union Springs (Union Springs, NY)
The Knights now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host Oxford Academy for a Midstate Athletic Conference test on Monday, September 16.
