The Grand Island Islanders got by the host Lincoln Southeast Knights softball squad by a count of 6-5 in Tuesday's league challenge.

Next, the Islanders meet the Lincoln Northeast Rockets (Lincoln, NE) in a A District outing, on Thursday, September 11. Grand Island will attempt to move on its 3-9 season record. The Rockets come into the outing with a 5-9 record after their 5-4 league win over Columbus (Columbus, NE).

The Knights (2-12) will now prepare for their test against North Platte (North Platte, NE). The Bulldogs go into the A District test with a 6-9 record. In their last test, North Platte was nudged by St. Cecilia (Hastings, NE), 8-0, in a non-league test.
