The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Perry Bluejays (Perry, IA) and the host Gilbert Tigers (Gilbert, IA), saw Perry's volleyball squad nip Gilbert by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Perry upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Bluejays travel to A-D-M (Adel, IA) to play the Tigers in a Raccoon River bout on Tuesday, September 4. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 1-1.

The Tigers now own a 3-4 record. They play next when they travel to Dallas Center-Grimes for a non-league bout on Tuesday, August 28. Gilbert will play a Mustangs squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Roosevelt (Des Moines, IA). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-1.
