Clinton Maroons (Clinton, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Armstrong Trojans (Armstrong, IL), 56-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Clinton upgrades its record to 2-7 on the season. The Maroons travel to Paxton-Buckley-Loda (Paxton, IL) to encounter the Panthers in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 22. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 4-5. Paxton-Buckley-Loda lost 73-55 in their recent non-league bout against Monticello (Monticello, IL)

Next up, the Trojans encounter the Hoopeston Cornjerkers (Hoopeston, IL) in a Vermilion Valley bout, on Friday, January 4. Armstrong will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Cornjerkers go into the bout with a 2-4 record after their 52-41 non-league win over Central (Clifton, IL).
