Spectators at Friday's league test between the Hoopeston Cornjerkers (Hoopeston, IL) and the host Salt Fork Storm (Sidell, IL), witnessed Hoopeston's basketball squad topple Salt Fork by a margin of 58-46.

The Cornjerkers (16-5) will now prepare for their test against Oakwood (Fithian, IL). The Comets go into the Vermilion Valley test with a 13-8 record. In their last test, Oakwood notched a victory over Milford (Milford, IL), 60-54, in a league test.

The Storm now own a 16-6 record. They play next when they travel to Schlarman for a Vermilion Valley test on Tuesday, January 30. Salt Fork will encounter a Hilltoppers squad coming off a 49-47 league loss to Georgetown-Ridge Farm (Georgetown, IL). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 1-15.
