Jacquelyn Matias has been named player of the year. "Matias lead the Condors in AVG. (.387), SLG% (.629), PA (66 with only 6 K), R (26), H (24), 2B (9), 3B (3) & SB (15). As the lead off hitter, Jackey set the table for the two hitter, Jessica Frausto, who lead Curie with 17 RBI. Matias caught every inning (108.2 ) & kept opposing base runners honest with her .292 caught stealing %, her 10 pick offs of runners at third base, 1 at second base & 1 at first base. She handled and nurtured Rookie of The Year Thalia Ortiz who went 10-7 with 15 complete games, 2.17 ERA & had 113 K vs 50 BB. Matias & co-captains Frausto & Manarang, were supreme leaders and critical to the Condors' success as a team. They often talked to the team about playing the game in a professional manner while always giving it the respect it commands. While they will be missed, their leadership by example on the field, in the dugout & at practice has left a lasting impression on the underclassmen which will inevitably have a positive impact on our success in future seasons."
