Spectators at Tuesday's non-league match between the Bloomington Purple Raiders (Bloomington, IL) and the visiting Rantoul Eagles (Rantoul, IL), witnessed Bloomington's softball squad tip Rantoul by a count of 8-2.

The Purple Raiders now sport a 6-18 record. They play next when they host Peoria for a Big Twelve match on Thursday, May 10. Bloomington will face a Lions squad coming off a 16-0 league loss to Normal Community (Normal, IL). The Lions record now stands at 0-16.

With the loss, Rantoul moves to 11-16 on the season. The Eagles travel to LeRoy (LeRoy, IL) to face the Panthers in a non-league match on Wednesday, May 9. The Panthers go into the match with a record of 19-10. LeRoy won 7-4 in their recent non-league match against Bismarck-Henning (Bismarck, IL)
