The Hoffman Estates Hawks the visiting Lyons Lions softball squad by a final score of 5-3 in Saturday's non-league battle.

The Hawks (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against Streamwood (Streamwood, IL). The Sabres go into the non-league battle with a 0-0 record.

The Lions now possess a 6-9 record. They play next when they travel to St. Ignatius for a non-league battle on Saturday, April 26.

LaGrange Lions Varsity falls 5-3 to Hoffman Estates

Lindsey Arnston went 1-1 and hit a home run, but LaGrange Lions Varsity still fell to Hoffman Estates 5-3 in six innings on Saturday at St. Charles East Tournament.

Two of LaGrange Lions Varsity's runs were scored thanks to timely hitting by Lindsey. She homered in the sixth inning.

T Osimowicz got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She allowed three runs over six innings. T struck out three, walked none and gave up seven hits.

Hoffman Estates was sparked by K Dalal and C Farina, who teamed up for three hits and two RBIs.

Maggie Vacchiano was the game's losing pitcher. She lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed five runs.

Hoffman Estates never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring one run on an RBI single by K Hendle.

Hoffman Estates piled on three more runs in the bottom of the fifth. The inning looked promising, as K Dalal doubled, bringing home S Acosta to kick things off.
