In Saturday's non-league battle, the visiting Cheney Cardinals volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the McPherson Bullpups.

The Cardinals (31-2) will now prepare for their battle against Independent (Wichita, KS). The Panthers come into the Central Plains battle with a 13-7 record. In their last battle, Independent nudged Medicine Lodge (Medicine Lodge, KS), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Bullpups clash with the Winfield Vikings (Winfield, KS) in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division II battle, on Tuesday, October 20. McPherson will attempt to advance on its 10-6 season record. The Vikings come into the battle with a 1-10 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Haysville Campus (Wichita, KS).
