The Murray Tigers got by the visiting Calloway County Lakers softball squad by a count of 8-7 in Monday's league battle.
The Tigers (3-11) will now prepare for their battle against Marshall County (Benton, KY). The Marshals go into the District 4 battle with a 7-4 record. In their last battle, Marshall County was edged by McCracken County (Paducah, KY), 6-0, in a non-league battle.
The Lakers now sport a 5-8 record. They play next when they host Trigg County for a non-league battle on Tuesday, May 1. Calloway County will meet a Wildcats squad coming off a 4-0 non-league loss to Crittenden County (Marion, KY). The Wildcats record now stands at 14-8.
