The Murray Tigers softball team scored 9 runs and held the visiting Mayfield Cardinals to 5 in the Tigers non-league win on Friday.

The Tigers now sport a 1-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Trigg County for a non-league battle on Monday, March 31. Murray will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 6-3 non-league win over Massac County (Metropolis, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Mayfield moves to 6-5 on the season. The Cardinals host Hopkins County Central (Madisonville, KY) to confront the Storm in a non-league battle on Monday, March 31. The Storm come into the battle with a record of 1-9. Hopkins County Central won 10-8 in their recent non-league battle against Breckinridge County (Harned, KY)
