The Vela Sabercats basketball team scored 89 points and held the visiting Donna Redskins to 31 in the Sabercats non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Sabercats now sport a 15-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest for a 6A Region IV District 31 contest on Friday, December 30.

The Redskins (1-7) will now prepare for their contest against Lopez (Brownsville, TX). The Lobos enter the 5A Region IV District 32 contest with a 0-9 record. In their last contest, Lopez was routed by Vela (Edinburg, TX), 74-39, in a non-league contest.
