Game Summary
Horizon executed their best defensive game of the year as Coach Gault made a few shifts if the line up that seemed to work well. Unfortunately, the Huskies lost to visiting Hamilton by one. The girls have a great "don't quit attitude" said Gault, and bounced back time after time in this well played game. Avery Denekamp pitched 7 strong innings in some heat, and great defensive plays by a re-vamped infield kept Horizon close all game.
A number of well ranged plays by Carbajal at 3rd, a one hop throw to the plate by Kemppainen and sweep tag by Casey, and a bang bang play by Uriarte and Wehr to pick a runner off at first highlighted the defensive effort.
Sydney Melotik singled home two runs in the bottom of the 8th, but the Husky comeback fell a little short. With a 10-4 record so far, the girls have a great season going. Especially when you consider two of their losses came to larger conference teams.
