Florida High School Soccer - Flanagan can't get by Everglades
November 15, 2012: Miramar, FL 33027 In Thursday's league game, the Everglades Gators (Miramar, FL) soccer squad tipped the visiting Flanagan Falcons (Pembroke Pines, FL), by a final score of 5-4.
The Gators (1-2) will now prepare for their game against Cooper City (Cooper City, FL). The Cowboys go into the 5A District 13 game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, Cooper City nipped Miramar (Miramar, FL), 2-0, in a league game.
The Falcons (0-1) will now prepare for their game against Everglades (Miramar, FL). The Gators go into the 5A District 13 game with a 1-2 record.
Game Summary
Everglades jumped out to an early lead with Juan Cardona finishing a nice through ball from Jonathon Jehle. Flanagan was able to answer back off a set piece that bounced across the goal only to be finished by a man running in far post. Everglades went up twice more with Flanagan answering twice to go into half tied 3-3. Everglades dominated play through most of the game with Flanagan capitalizing on defensive errors. The second half began much as the first ended with a great deal of pressure on the opponents goal. Everglades went ahead on another through ball and then the game winner with a great bit of skill as Jonathon Jehle dribbled through 3 players score on a long distance shot. Flanagan got a goal back off another defensive error for the game to finish at 5-4.
