Colorado High School Soccer - Mountain Vista knocks off Prairie View
May 8, 2013: Henderson, CO 80640 Mountain Vista Golden Eagles (Highlands Ranch, CO) fans were thrilled Wednesday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Prairie View Thunderhawks (Henderson, CO), 8-0 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Golden Eagles confront the Doherty Spartans (Colorado Springs, CO) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, May 11. Mountain Vista will attempt to better on its 15-1 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 9-3 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Rangeview (Aurora, CO).
With the loss, Prairie View drops to 8-7 on the season.
Game Summary
The 14 player PVHS roster was outmanned, outskilled, and outhustled in this first round playoff match. However, the Thunderhawks played with heart and pride. The 8th goal was scored with 1.5 seconds remaining in the game and after the winning team's excessive celebration, PVHS players shook hands and kept their heads up. This season is over, but the goals for next season remain lofty!
