In Thursday's non-league contest, the Fairfax Stampede (Laveen, AZ) softball team held off the visiting Higley Knights (Gilbert, AZ), by a margin of 5-4.

With the triumph, Fairfax moves its record to 11-0 on the year. The Stampede travel to Metro Tech (Phoenix, AZ) to play the Knights in a 5A Metro contest on Friday, April 23. The Knights come into the contest with a record of 3-9. Metro Tech lost 14-1 in their recent non-league contest against Kingman (Kingman, AZ)

In their next game, the Knights play the Casteel Colts (Queen Creek, AZ) in a 5A San Tan contest, on Friday, April 23. Higley will attempt to move on its 8-6 season record. The Colts come into the contest with a 9-4 record after their 11-1 non-league loss to Sunrise Mountain (Peoria, AZ).
