Northwest Guilford Vikings (Greensboro, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC), 55-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Northwest Guilford upgrades its record to 21-5 on the season. The Vikings host Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Saturday, March 2. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 25-3. Pinecrest won 57-51 in their recent non-league bout against Glenn (Kernersville, NC)
