Texas High School Basketball - Estacado triumphant over Jayton
January 4, 2025: Lubbock, TX 79403 The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Estacado Matadors (Lubbock, TX) and the visiting Jayton Jaybirds (Jayton, TX), observed Estacado's basketball team overwhelm Jayton by a score of 88-59.
The Matadors (17-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Snyder (Snyder, TX). The Tigers come into the 4A Region I District 5 challenge with a 6-16 record. In their last challenge, Snyder was routed by Brady (Brady, TX), 48-25, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Jaybirds encounter the Rotan Yellowhammers (Rotan, TX) in a 1A Region II District 15 challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Jayton will attempt to improve on its 6-2 season record.
