The Lanier Poets basketball team scored 43 points and restricted the host Daphne Trojans to 27 in the Poets non-league victory on Monday.

The Poets now sport a 7-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to LeFlore for a non-league contest on Friday, February 16. Lanier will battle a Rattlers team coming off a 51-49 non-league win over Northview (Dothan, AL). The Rattlers record now stands at 31-2.
