California High School Basketball - Sequoia holds off San Mateo
January 30, 2019: San Mateo, CA 94401 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Sequoia Cherokee (Redwood City, CA) and the host San Mateo Bearcats (San Mateo, CA), saw Sequoia's basketball squad hold off San Mateo by a tally of 51-45.
With the victory, Sequoia improves its record to 9-11 on the campaign. The Cherokee host Mills (Millbrae, CA) to confront the Vikings in a Peninsula - South challenge on Wednesday, February 6. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 11-11. Mills won 51-45 in their recent league challenge against Burlingame (Burlingame, CA)
Next up, the Bearcats confront the Aragon Dons (San Mateo, CA) in a Peninsula - South challenge, on Friday, February 1. San Mateo will attempt to improve on its 6-15 season record. The Dons come into the challenge with a 9-12 record after their 54-40 league win over Burlingame (Burlingame, CA).
