Game Summary
Foothill was back on the pitch against Campo in game 2 of the Tri Valley Classic and grinded out a 3-2 win. Campo with their possession style proved to be a difficult opponent for the Falcons throughout the match. The Falcons seized the lead on a strong unassisted finish by Tamilyn Kwong early in the match but was quickly countered by Campo to knot the score at 1 – 1. Late in the first half Ariana Nino off a pass from Sarah Broacha put the Falcons back on top 2-1 at half. The second half continued to be tightly contested until the Falcons secured some breathing room with Kwong’s second goal off a feed from Sarah Broacha pushing the lead to 3-1. With about 15 minutes to go Campo narrowed the lead to 3-2 causing (so much for breathing room) the rest of the match to be highly tense. Both teams had chances in the final 15 minutes but fortunately the Falcons were able to hold on as the Falcons defense came up large as it had for most of the match.
