Rhode Island High School Baseball - West Warwick gets by Tolman
May 6, 2019: West Warwick, RI 02893 West Warwick Wizards (West Warwick, RI) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Tolman Tigers (Pawtucket, RI), 3-1 in a league test.
With the win, West Warwick upgrades its record to 6-6 on the season. The Wizards travel to Tolman (Pawtucket, RI) to battle the Tigers in a Division II-A test on Wednesday, May 8. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 6-8. Tolman lost 3-1 in their recent non-league test against Providence Country Day-Wheeler (East Providence, RI)

Game Summary
Led by the solid pitching of left hander Andrew Sears, the Wizards of West Warwick edged the Tolman Tigers, 3-1. In 6 1/3 innings. Sears stuck out eight and allowed just one run on five hits. With runners on first and second, Mason Provoyeur struck out one batter and induced one fly out to pick up the save.
In the bottom of the second inning, Alex Pedus led off with a double, moved to third on a grounder to first base and scored on a perfect suicide squeeze by Chase Joubert.
After Jack Boulay scored on a wild pitch in the fourth inning, WWHS went up 3-0 in the fifth inning when Kyle Kortick singled, stole second and scored on John Pina’s double to right-center.
