In Friday's league contest, the visiting Stamford Black Knights basketball team scored a close 74-69 win over the Darien Blue Wave.

The Black Knights (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against Staples (Westport, CT). The Wreckers come into the Fairfield County contest with a 7-0 record. In their last contest, Staples edged Norwalk (Norwalk, CT), 75-56, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Blue Wave battle the St. Joseph Cadets (Trumbull, CT) in a Fairfield County contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Darien will attempt to better on its 3-3 season record.
