First Quarter
PITTSFORD -- Harley Allendale Columbia put four players in double-figures and it proved too much for Naples as the Wolves notched a 65-53 win on Senior Nite, Wednesday, securing second place in Finger Lakes West.
The win also clinched the fourth seed in the upcoming D1 Sectional playoffs.
Naples jumped out to a quick 9-2 lead thanks to long-range threes by Evan Bay and a short jumper by Cole Rathbun. Ben Chaffer then curled in a short shot to extend the lead to 11-2. HAC senior Robert Dorsey brought the sell out crowd to their feet with a 25-foot three-pointer and ignited the Wolves' to a 15-1 run before Bay's three pointer a tthe buzzer cut the Wolves lead to 17-15 after one period. Dorsey had 8 points and Bay 9 in the period.
Second Quarter
The second stanza was played evenly and HAC took a 30-28 lead into the intermission.
Third Quarter
In the third, HAC increased the pressure, but Nick Green scored 6 points to keep Naples close. Then in the waning seconds, the Wolves dug out a loose ball on their defensive end, passed it forward to Zitong Jin, who dribbled up the court and calmly swished a deep three as the horn sounded to push the lead to 49-43 in HAC's favor.
Fourth Quarter
HAC slowly extended the lead in the fourth quarter as Dorsey and Jin each hit three pointers and HAC sank 6-of-9 free throws.
The win earned the Wolves a season split with Naples, which beat HAC 64-61 earlier in the season.
Led by Jin (18 points), Xavier Israel (16 points/5 steals), Robert Dorsey (14 points) and Ryan Hilton (13 points/14 rebounds/2 blocks), the Wolves sent the seniors out in style and pushed them to a final 14-6 overall and 11-5 record in Finger Lakes West.
Naples (8-12, 6-10) was led by Bay's 15 points, while Rathbun had 11 and Green 10. Ben Chaffer and Nick Clearman each had 6 points. For HAC, Andrew Alexis and Jaden Sowell each had 2 points
