Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Montour thwarts Pine-Richland
January 26, 2025: McKees Rocks, PA 15136 The crowd at Sunday's non-league challenge between the Montour Spartans (McKees Rocks, PA) and the visiting Pine-Richland Rams (Gibsonia, PA), observed Montour's basketball team knock off Pine-Richland by a score of 70-52.
The Spartans (15-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Mars (Mars, PA). The Fightin' Planets come into the WPIAL 5A 4 challenge with a 11-7 record. In their last challenge, Mars prevailed over South Fayette (McDonald, PA), 56-51, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Rams encounter the North Hills Indians (Pittsburgh, PA) in a WPIAL 6A 1 challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Pine-Richland will attempt to improve on its 5-12 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 6-12 record after their 61-58 non-league loss to Baldwin (Pittsburgh, PA).
