In Friday's league match, the visiting Tuscola Mountaineers football squad scored a close 15-14 victory over the North Buncombe Black Hawks.

In their next game, the Mountaineers clash with the West Henderson Falcons (Hendersonville, NC) in a Western Mountain 3A match, on Friday, October 19. Tuscola will attempt to move on its 5-3 season record. The Falcons enter the match with a 4-4 record after their 36-0 league win over North Henderson (Hendersonville, NC).

The Black Hawks (6-3) will now prepare for their match against A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC). The Rockets enter the Western Mountain 3A match with a 7-1 record. In their last match, A.C. Reynolds held off Asheville (Asheville, NC), 37-14, in a league match.
