In Friday's league game, the Riverside Pirates (De Graff, OH) football team knocked off the host Elgin Comets (Marion, OH), by a final score of 42-28.

The Pirates (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Hardin Northern (Dola, OH). The Polar Bears come into the Northwest Central game with a 3-2 record. In their last game, Hardin Northern was dropped by Perry (Lima, OH), 24-13, in a league game.

The Comets now hold a 0-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lehman Catholic for a Northwest Central game on Saturday, October 5. Elgin will battle a Cavaliers team coming off a 42-20 league win over Ridgemont (Mount Victory, OH). The Cavaliers record now stands at 2-3.
