Texas High School Soccer - Monterey held off by Parkland
January 12, 2019: El Paso, TX 79924 The crowd at Saturday's non-league test between the Parkland Matadors (El Paso, TX) and the visiting Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX), saw Parkland's soccer squad get by Monterey by a count of 2-1.
The Matadors now hold a 5-1 record. They play next when they travel to El Dorado for a 5A Region 1 District 2 test on Tuesday, January 15. Parkland will meet a Aztecs squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Ysleta (El Paso, TX). The Aztecs record now stands at 2-4.
With the loss, Monterey drops to 4-2 on the season. The Plainsmen travel to Richardson (Richardson, TX) to meet the Eagles in a non-league test on Thursday, January 17. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 0-4.
