Ohio High School Volleyball - Olentangy over Northview
August 18, 2018: Sylvania, OH 43560 Olentangy Braves (Lewis Center, OH) backers left the game in high spirits Saturday as they observed their volleyball squad top the host Northview Wildcats (Sylvania, OH), 3-0 in a non-league match.
Next up, the Braves battle the Dublin Coffman Shamrocks (Dublin, OH) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, August 21. Olentangy will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record.
With the loss, Northview drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Findlay (Findlay, OH) to battle the Trojans in a non-league match on Tuesday, August 21. The Trojans come into the match with a record of 0-0.
Match Summary
SYLVANIA - In the first match of the 2018 volleyball season, Sylvania Northview High School hosted Olentangy High School, the second meeting for these teams in the past two years. Although a quality volleyball match, Northview was unable to respond back to the defensive capabilities and the offensive power of the Braves, losing three sets to zero.
Leading the way for Northview was junior, outside hitter, Hannah Frame, with a 8 kills, hitting .143, and 14 digs. Additional, senior, outside hitter, McKenna Hall, contributed 7 kills and 16 digs. Sophomore libero, Emma Dukate, was nearly perfect with a team high 22 digs, 0 errors and passed a 2.19. As a team, the Wildcats passed 2.28 on a 3.0 scale significantly improved from the 2017 team to this 2018 team. Junior setter, Tatum Lazar, handed out 15 assists and sophomore setter, Clare Kwiatkowski, dished out 9 assists.
The Wildcats start the young season 0-1 and will return to play on Tuesday as they travel to Findlay High School.
