Virginia High School Basketball - Prince Edward County thwarts Amelia County
January 21, 2025: Farmville, VA 23901 The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Prince Edward County Eagles (Farmville, VA) and the visiting Amelia County Raiders (Amelia Court House, VA), observed Prince Edward County's basketball team knock off Amelia County by a score of 60-40.
The Eagles (14-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA). The Statesmen come into the James River challenge with a 1-11 record. In their last challenge, Randolph-Henry prevailed over Lunenburg Central (Victoria, VA), 33-26, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Raiders encounter the Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA) in a James River challenge, on Friday, January 24. Amelia County will attempt to improve on its 4-9 season record. The Dukes come into the challenge with a 9-4 record after their 61-43 non-league loss to Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA).
