In Friday's non-league match, the host Center Cougars football squad scored a close 16-14 victory over the Rio Linda Knights.

In their next game, the Cougars clash with the Vanden Vikings (Fairfield, CA) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 28. Center will attempt to move on its 3-1 season record. The Vikings enter the match with a 2-2 record after their 40-27 non-league loss to Napa (Napa, CA).

The Knights (3-1) will now prepare for their match against Ponderosa (Shingle Springs, CA). The Bruins enter the non-league match with a 4-0 record. In their last match, Ponderosa held off Natomas (Sacramento, CA), 60-13, in a non-league match.
