The Corvian Community Cardinals basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting North Stanly Comets to 55 in the Cardinals non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Cardinals now sport a 6-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jackson Day for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 4. Corvian Community will meet a Mariners team coming off a 57-49 non-league win over Rockwell Christian School (Rockwell, NC). The Mariners record now stands at 7-10.

The Comets (10-3) will now prepare for their contest against Union Academy (Monroe, NC). The Cardinals enter the 1A/2A Yadkin Valley contest with a 2-10 record. In their last contest, Union Academy was outscored by South Stanly (Norwood, NC), 63-42, in a non-league contest.
