Maryland High School Baseball - Oakland Mills loses to Atholton
April 24, 2019: Columbia, MD 21045 The Atholton Raiders baseball team scored 14 runs and limited the host Oakland Mills Scorpions to 0 in the Raiders league victory on Wednesday.
The Raiders (11-3) will now prepare for their match against Marriotts Ridge (Marriottsville, MD). The go into the Howard County match with a 9-3 record. In their last match, Marriotts Ridge gained a win over Long Reach (Columbia, MD), 5-3, in a league match.
The Scorpions (5-10) will now prepare for their match against River Hill (Clarksville, MD). The Hawks go into the Howard County match with a 7-6 record. In their last match, River Hill was overwhelmed by Glenelg (Glenelg, MD), 12-8, in a league match.
Game Summary
The Raiders started off with two runs in the first and then cruised to a 14-0 win over OM. The Raiders hit four home runs, 2 by Carson Collier and 2 by Zach Geesaman. In all, Collier went 4-4 with two home runs and 5 RBIs Geesaman went 3-4 with 2 home runs a double and 4 RBIs. Jack Johnson went 2-2 with 2 singles and 3 Runs scored.
Benji Thalheimer pitched a 61 pitch shutout striking out 10 and only allowing two harmless singles.
