Mississippi High School Basketball - Leake Central can't hold off Kosciusko

The Kosciusko Whippets basketball team scored 69 points and held the visiting Leake Central Gators to 66 in the Whippets league triumph on Tuesday.

The Whippets now sport a 14-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Noxubee County for a 4A Region 4 contest on Friday, January 18. Kosciusko will battle a Tigers team coming off a 54-51 league loss to Louisville (Louisville, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 5-7.

The Gators (9-11) will now prepare for their contest against New Hope (Columbus, MS). The Trojans enter the 4A Region 4 contest with a 9-10 record. In their last contest, New Hope was nudged by Louisville (Louisville, MS), 57-54, in a league contest.
