Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Kearney Bearcats (Kearney, NE) and the host Lincoln East Spartans (Lincoln, NE), saw Kearney's basketball squad hold off Lincoln East by a count of 75-73.

With the victory, Kearney upgrades its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Bearcats travel to North Platte (North Platte, NE) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 4. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 2-6.

Next up, the Spartans play the Lincoln Northeast Rockets (Lincoln, NE) in a A District TBD challenge, on Friday, January 4. Lincoln East will attempt to upgrade on its 7-2 season record. The Rockets come into the challenge with a 2-7 record after their 55-49 non-league loss to Fremont (Fremont, NE).
