The DeSoto Eagles (De Soto, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Kinston Vikings (Kinston, NC), 57-50 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Eagles (15-1) will now prepare for their test against Mansfield Timberview (Arlington, TX). The Wolves go into the 5A Region I District 7 test with a 12-1 record.

The Vikings now own a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cuthbertson for a non-league test on Friday, December 28. Kinston will clash with a Cavaliers squad coming off a 61-59 non-league loss to Hampton (Hampton, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 9-1.
