Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the North Central Knights (Bassett, NE) and the visiting Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars (Niobrara, NE), saw North Central's basketball squad wallop Niobrara/Verdigre by a count of 73-15.

With the victory, North Central upgrades its record to 12-2 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Stuart (Stuart, NE) to play the Broncos in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 18. The Broncos come into the challenge with a record of 5-10. Stuart lost 35-17 in their recent non-league challenge against Wausa (Wausa, NE)

Next up, the Cougars play the Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades (Chambers, NE) in a D2 District 5 challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Niobrara/Verdigre will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record. The Renegades come into the challenge with a 10-5 record after their 37-29 non-league win over Ainsworth (Ainsworth, NE).
