In Thursday's league match, the visiting Mesa Jackrabbits basketball team scored a tight 61-56 triumph over the Westwood Warriors.

In their next game, the Jackrabbits confront the Boulder Creek Jaguar (Anthem, AZ) in a I Section III match, on Friday, January 6. Mesa will attempt to move on its 9-6 season record. The Jaguar enter the match with a 10-3 record after their 57-35 non-league win over Desert Edge (Goodyear, AZ).

With the defeat, Westwood moves to 8-8 on the year. The Warriors travel to San Luis (San Luis, AZ) to confront the Sidewinders in a non-league match on Friday, January 6. The Sidewinders enter the match with a record of 1-12. San Luis lost 64-30 in their recent non-league match against Seton Catholic (Chandler, AZ)
