The Staples Wreckers (Westport, CT) football nudged the visiting Danbury Hatters (Danbury, CT), 21-14 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Wreckers face the Warde Mustangs (Fairfield, CT) in a Fairfield County bout, on Friday, October 2. Staples will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record.

The Hatters (0-1) will now prepare for their bout against St. Joseph (Trumbull, CT). The Cadets enter the Fairfield County bout with a 0-0 record.
