With the victory, Irion County advances its record to 17-7 on the year. The Hornets host Garden City (Garden City, TX) to face the Bearkats in a 1A Region II District 11 match on Friday, January 17. The Bearkats enter the match with a record of 6-12. Garden City won 48-33 in their recent league match against Bronte (Bronte, TX)
The Hornets now own a 0-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Veribest for a 1A Region II District 11 match on Friday, January 17. Blackwell will face a Falcons squad coming off a 52-50 league loss to Water Valley (Water Valley, TX). The Falcons record now stands at 14-4.
