The Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ) basketball nipped the visiting Agua Fria Owls (Avondale, AZ), 43-40 in Monday's non-league test.

The Scorpions (6-6) will now prepare for their test against Washington (Phoenix, AZ). The Rams go into the non-league bout with a 4-2 record. In their last bout, Washington was edged by Buckeye (Buckeye, AZ), 78-42, in a league bout.

Next up, the Owls clash with the Dysart Demons (El Mirage, AZ) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Agua Fria will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Demons go into the bout with a 5-7 record after their 53-45 league win over Vista Grande (Casa Grande, AZ).
