Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Jack Britt Buccaneers (Fayetteville, NC), 52-45 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Scotland advances its record to 11-6 on the year. The Fighting Scots host Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC) to face the Patriots in a 3A/4A Sandhills match on Friday, February 7. The Patriots enter the match with a record of 11-10. Pinecrest won 61-27 in their recent league match against Lee County (Sanford, NC)

The Buccaneers now own a 6-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cape Fear for a 3A/4A United 8 match on Friday, February 7. Jack Britt will face a Colts squad coming off a 55-51 league loss to Gray's Creek (Hope Mills, NC). The Colts record now stands at 8-9.
