Mississippi High School Basketball - Charleston knocked off by Wayne County
December 30, 2017: Waynesboro, MS 39367 The Wayne County War Eagles basketball team scored 63 points and held the visiting Charleston Tigers to 48 in the War Eagles non-league triumph on Saturday.
The War Eagles now sport a 7-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hattiesburg for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 2. Wayne County will battle a Tigers team coming off a 78-0 non-league loss to Gentry (Indianola, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 8-5.
The Tigers (8-7) will now prepare for their contest against Humphreys County (Belzoni, MS). The Cowboys enter the 3A Region 3 contest with a 5-9 record. In their last contest, Humphreys County was defeated by South Delta (Rolling Fork, MS), 82-65, in a non-league contest.
