North Carolina High School Basketball - Hoggard edges Ashley

In Tuesday's league outing, the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) basketball squad nipped the visiting Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), by a margin of 41-38.

The Vikings (13-8) will now prepare for their outing against South Brunswick (Southport, NC). The Cougars go into the Mideastern 3A/4A outing with a 14-6 record. In their last outing, South Brunswick was tipped by New Hanover (Wilmington, NC), 59-44, in a league outing.

The Screaming Eagle now own a 6-15 record. They play next when they travel to North Brunswick for a Mideastern 3A/4A outing on Friday, February 2. Ashley will encounter a Scorpions squad coming off a 70-54 league loss to West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC). The Scorpions record now stands at 3-15.
