In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Desert Edge Scorpions basketball team scored a tight 53-49 triumph over the Liberty Lions.

In their next game, the Scorpions face the Gilbert Tigers (Gilbert, AZ) in a non-league match, on Friday, December 29. Desert Edge will attempt to move on its 8-6 season record. The Tigers enter the match with a 11-1 record after their 76-41 non-league win over Alchesay (Whiteriver, AZ).
